- Selfie / Identity Verification: During account setup, we collect a selfie photograph used solely for automated identity verification. This image is processed by AWS Rekognition to confirm you are a real person. The image is not used for any other purpose and is deleted after verification is complete.
- Optional Child Information: If you choose, basic information about your children such as age and name (this is completely optional)

We automatically collect certain information when you use our Service:
- Analytics Data: Anonymous usage data, app performance metrics, and crash reports through Google Analytics
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, app version
- Location Data: General location information (town/country level) if you grant permission

- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Rekognition: For automated selfie-based identity verification during account creation. Selfie images are transmitted securely to AWS Rekognition, processed to confirm a real person is present, and are not retained beyond the verification step

5. Data Storage and Security
5.1 Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Firebase services. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
5.2 Biometric Data (Selfie Verification)
When you create an account, we collect a selfie photograph to verify your identity using AWS Rekognition. Please note:
- Your selfie is transmitted securely to AWS Rekognition solely to confirm a real person is registering
- The image is deleted immediately after the verification process is complete — we do not store your selfie or any facial geometry derived from it
- AWS Rekognition processes the image in accordance with AWS's Privacy Notice
- By submitting a selfie during registration you consent to this processing. You may contact admin@pattr.app if you have questions or wish to exercise rights related to this data
5.4 Data Retention
- Active Accounts: We retain your personal information while you maintain an active account with us
- Account Deletion: When you delete your account, we will remove all personal information that can identify you
- Content Retention: User-generated content (posts, images, text) will be retained but made anonymous by removing all personal identifying information
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Account Deletion
You have the right to request deletion of your account at any time. Upon account deletion:
- All personal identifying information will be permanently removed
- Your content will remain on the platform but will be anonymized

6.2 Location Data
You can control whether to share your location information through your device settings or within the app.
6.3 Marketing Communications
You can opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in any marketing email we send.
